Geraldine R. Morse, 93
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Geraldine R. Morse, 93, of 18 Nelson St., died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Pownal, Vt., on Oct. 29, 1917, daughter of Harry and Margaret Brown Grady, she was a graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Morse was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. and also worked as a police matron for the North Adams Police Department. Her last employment was as a clerk in the credit department of the former Boston Store.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She was president and treasurer for the PTA at the former Johnson School and was an active volunteer for the local March of Dimes Campaign. Her greatest passion was for children and dogs.
Her husband, Charles William Morse Jr., whom she married Oct. 20, 1934, died Feb. 13, 1994.
She leaves two daughters, Joyce Forth and Sarah Morse-Field, both of Williamstown; two sons, retired Marine Master Gunnery Sgt. Mark A. Morse of La Mesa, Calif., and Joseph L. Morse of South Yarmouth; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sons Michael Morse and Charles W. Morse III and her sister, Eileen Toomey Gillooly.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Morse will be Friday, Dec. 3, at 10:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Dec. 2, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
