Howard B. O'Neil, 44
ADAMS, Mass. - Howard Bernard O'Neil, 44, of 13 East Walnut St. died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after a long illness.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 14, 1966, son of Harriet Shearer Harrington O'Neil of North Adams and the late Howard O'Neil, he graduated from Drury High School.
Mr. O'Neil was last employed by RUS in Pittsfield. Before that, he was the manager of the former JJ Newberry Store in North Adams.
He was a member of First Congregational Church in Adams. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed attending his children's sporting events. He also liked fishing and playing with his dogs Zoey, Riley and Ellie.
He and his wife, the former Anne Marie Morin, were married on May 24, 1987, in the former St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves two sons, Brad O'Neil and Tyler O'Neil, both at home; a daughter, Sara O'Neil, also at home; six sisters, Grace Rarick and her husband, David, Sara Martin and Gloria Rose, all of North Adams, Mary Johnson of Newport, N.C., Kathy Raney of Adams and Patricia Bessette of Clarksburg; three brothers, James Fink of North Carolina, Henry Harrington of Williamstown and John Harrington of North Adams; his father- and mother-in-law, Arthur and Norma Morin of Adams; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Kimberly Morin of Cheshire, Amanda Morin and Arthur Morin of Adams; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters Rose Harrington and Sue Ellen Saliba.
FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Mr. O'Neil will be Thursday, Dec. 2, at 11 from First Congregational Church in Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to his children's education fund in care of the funeral home.
