Jean L. Harris, 80

CLARKSBURG, Mass. - Jean Louise Harris, formerly of Williamstown, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at home with her two sons by her side. Born in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. on May 14, 1930, as Jean Richards, she graduated with the class of 1948 from Fairhaven High School in Fairhaven. She moved to Williamstown in 1959. Mrs. Harris was employed for several years at both Excelsior Printing and Crane & Co. in North Adams. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and attended nearly all her sons' sporting events. She was a member of the Clarksburg Senior Center and loved to play cards with her family and friends. She enjoyed bowling and watching Red Sox and Patriots games. She won several dance contests with her husband. Her husband, Richard Victor "Red" Harris, whom she married on Sept. 9, 1950, died on Nov. 12, 2003. Married 53 years, they were inseparable and did everything together. If you saw one of them the other was nearby (except on the golf course), said family. She leaves her two sons, Mark Harris of Williamstown and Scott Harris of Clarksburg, and a sister, Marilyn Richards, of Acushnet. She was predeceased by a daughter, Gail Harris, in infancy, and a sister, Charlotte Richards. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will take place Thursday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. atFlynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling Hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 11 to until the time of the service.
