Mary C. Gaudreau, 78
ADAMS, Mass. - Mary C. Gaudreau, 78, of 24 Anthony St. died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at home surrounded by her husband and children, following a brief illness.
Born in North Adams on June 16, 1932, a daughter of Charles and Iva Bush Cardinal, she graduated in 1950 from the former St. Joseph's High School in North Adams.
Mrs. Gaudreau was employed for many years at North Adams Regional Hospital and was last employed for the city of North Adams.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and longtime communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister, found joy in home visits, and was a member of the Rosary Society for many years. She was an avid Red Sox Fan and truly loved attending and watching their games.
She leaves her husband of 59 years, Norman Marc Gaudreau
; four daughters, Debra Matney and her husband, Michael, of Fairport, N.Y., Lynn Hartlage of North Adams, Mary Messer and her husband, Jeff, of Slippery Rock, Pa., and Anne Gaudreau of Glens Falls, N.Y.; three sons, Marc Gaudreau of Weymouth, Paul Gaudreau of North Adams and Peter Gaudreau and his wife, Lisa, of Ludlow; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, John Gaudreau, and two sisters, Ruth Tatro and Norma Davignon.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Funeral services will take place Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 8:15 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Elizabeth Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will Monday, Sept. 27, from 4 to 7 p.m.
