David P. Face, 62

POWNAL, Vt. — David Paul Face, 62, of 1054 South Stream Road died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. Born in Pittsfield, Mass., on Jan. 29, 1948, son of Otto and Dorothy Sykes Face, he graduated from Lenox (Mass.) High School and received a nursing degree from Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield. He also attended Washington College in Maryland and completed the anesthesiology program at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Mr. Face was employed as a certified registered nurse anesthetist at North Adams (Mass.) Regional Hospital for six years. Before that, he worked at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington for 29 years. He was a member of Pownal Center Community Church, where he had played the organ and piano for the past 20 years. He enjoyed music, flower gardening and cooking. He particularly enjoyed trips to Wells, Maine. His first wife, the former Lynne Misenheimer, died in December 1988. He and his wife, Kimberly Ann Gile, were married Feb. 2, 1991, in Pownal Center Community Church. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Scott David Face and his wife, Anne, of Kent, Ohio, Craig Robert Face and his wife, Melissa, of Wakefield, Va., Bryan Eugene Face and his companion, Liz Dollar, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a daughter, Amy Lynne Face and her companion, Joe Myers, of Shaftsbury; two stepsons, Christopher D. Dayton and Cliff J. Dayton, both of Pownal; two brothers, Timothy Face and his wife, Kathy, and Paul Face and his wife, Dawn, both of Lenox; a sister, Claudia Melle of Hinsdale, Mass.; a granddaughter, Hannah Face; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lee Misenheimer of Dalton, Mass., Nicky and Joseph Forest of Bennington, and Pamela and Greg Shughart of Sunapee, N.H., his father-in-law, Kenneth Gile of Pownal, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by another brother-in-law, Peter Melle, in March 2010. FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Mr. Face will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Pownal Center Community Church, Center St. Private burial will be at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery in Lenox, Mass. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Christian School Music Program or Pownal Center Community Church in care of the funeral home.
