Laurette St. Pierre, 89
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Laurette "Loretta" St. Pierre, 89, of 44 Taft St. died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Montreal on Aug. 8, 1920, daughter of Leo and Rose Fecteau Cyr, she attended schools in Canada and North Adams. She settled in the Greylock section of North Adams with her family in 1938.
Mrs. St. Pierre was last employed at Greylock Elementary School. She also had worked in the former Greylock Mill and, in the 1960s, for the former M. Lurie & Co. Dress Shop.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, and a longtime communicant of the former Holy Family Parish. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and cooking for her family.
Her husband, Roy St. Pierre, whom she married on May 27, 1944, died on May 4, 1986.
She leaves two sons, J. Richard St. Pierre and his wife, Donna, and Roger St. Pierre and his wife, Donna, all of North Adams; her sister and best friend, Theresa St. Pierre of North Adams; two brothers, Rene Cyr and Henry A. Cyr, both of North Adams; four grandchildren, Jeffrey St. Pierre, Elizabeth Hanna, Melissa St. Pierre and Matthew St. Pierre, and five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Nathan, Jonathan, Katherine and Zachary.
She was predeceased by her brother Leo "Spike" Cyr.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Services for Mrs. St. Pierre will take place Saturday morning, July 17, at 10:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Elizabeth's Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday, July 16, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
