Elaine A. Tremblay, 84

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Elaine Anna Tremblay, 84, of 554 Daniels Road, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at her home. Born in Readsboro, Vt., on Sept. 22, 1925, she was the daughter of Joseph Eli and Sophie Mathilde Savage Duperault. A homemaker when her children were young, Mrs. Tremblay worked for the former Sprague Electric Co. and Hunter Outdoor Products. She last worked for IcoRally Corp. until her retirement in 1987. She then volunteered with the Berkshire Food Project. She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family, reading and crossword puzzles. Her husband, John E. Tremblay, whom she married at St. Joachim's Church in Readsboro on Sept. 4, 1944, died on Oct. 1, 1994. She leaves a son, John J. Tremblay of North Adams; five daughters, Susan Butler, and Linda Reynolds and her husband, Robert, of North Adams; Janet Tremblay and her fiance, Donald Ray, of Swansboro, N.C.; Sally Reese and her husband, Donald, of Clarksburg; and Joyce Miller and her husband, James, of Deltona, Fla.; two sisters, Bernice Bergeron and Florence Tremblay, both of North Adams; 14 grandchildren, Peter Derby, Peggy Sue LaCroy, William Derby, Rebecca Wells, Chris Tremblay, Kelli Kozak, Amy Tremblay, April Pitroff Varellas, John Pitroff, Emily Tremblay, Hadley Reynolds, Elizabeth Pitroff, Gregory Miller, Elliot Miller; 16 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Jean and George Derby; two daughters-in-law, Jill Delise Tremblay and Jane Ellsworth Tremblay; and eight brothers and sisters, Viola, Leonore, Ernest, Albert, Gloria, Edna, Rita and Joseph. FUNERAL NOTICE: - Services for Mrs. Tremblay will be Wednesday, June 2, at 10:15 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA & Hospice of North Berkshire in care of the funeral home.
