Jeannine F. McKinney, 80

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Jeannine F. McKinney, 80, of Welch Road died Sunday, May 30, 2010, surrounded by her family after a year of failing health. Born in North Adams on Sept. 14, 1929, daughter of William G. Delisle and Albertine Rougeau Delisle Roberts, she lived in Bennington, Vt., as a child and attended Sacred Heart School and later, on returning to North Adams, the former Notre Dame and Holy Family schools. She graduated from the Notre Dame Commercial Course in 1946 and moved to Clarksburg in 1973. A mother and homemaker, Mrs. McKinney volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at Clarksburg Elementary School, drove cancer patients to appointments and was a Eucharistic minister to hospital and nursing home patients. She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams, where she was a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Briggsville Women's Club, Stamford (Vt.) Seniors, the Clarksburg Council on Aging and the Red Hat Society. She always enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Her husband, Allen G. McKinney, whom she married on May 23, 1953, died April 7, 1989. She leaves three daughters, Karen Moran and her husband, Michael, of Clarksburg, Nancy Torres and her husband, Samuel, of Stamford and Phyllis Desautels and her husband, Michael, of Readsboro, Vt.; two sons, Eric McKinney and Selectman Carl McKinney, both of Clarksburg; a brother, Gerald Delisle of Clarksburg; 12 grandchildren, Amy McKinney Bonneville, Eric McKinney, Dennis Moran, Kelly Moran Connor, Shaun Moran, Holly Moran, Nicole Moran Belanger, Adrienne Torres Gigliotti, Alexander and Matthew McKinney, and Allen and Rachel Desautels, and six great-grandchildren. A granddaughter, Heather Torres, died in February 2005, her brother Raymond Delisle died in April and her sister, Vivian Delisle O'Dell, died in 2000. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. McKinney will be Friday, June 4, at 8:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 3, from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berkshire Community Action North in care of the funeral home.
