Stella Carlow, 92
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Stella Carlow, 92, of 53 Walker St. died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on March 13, 1918, daughter of Telesphore and Delia A. Chenail Dumouchel, she attended the former Notre Dame School, completing its Commercial Course.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs.Carlow was employed by the late Dr. Dumouchel.
She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She also was active in the Le Cercle Francais.
Her husband, John J. Carlow, whom she married on June 14, 1941, died on Aug. 16, 2002.
She leaves two sons, Dennis J. Carlow of Conrad, N.H., and Thomas B. Carlow and his wife, Noella, of Adams; a daughter, Madeleine Carlow of Williamstown; two sisters, Freda Marriott of Plymouth, N.H., and Gloria Phelps and her husband, Lawrence, of North Adams; four grandchildren, Tami Carlow-Ill and her husband, Perry, of Virginia, Shawn Carlow and his wife, Yuki, of Los Angeles, Jennifer Carlow of Framingham and Elizabeth Ferris and her husband, Craig, of Clarksburg, two great-grandchildren, Shea and McKenna Ill of Virginia, and nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas, Lionel and Donald Dumouchel.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Carlow will take place Wednesday, May 26, at 8:15 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Elizabeth's Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 25, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth's Church through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
