Robert T. Barbuto Sr., 80

ADAMS, Mass. — Robert T. Barbuto Sr., 80, of 166 Orchard St. died Friday, April 23, 2010, at North Adams Commons. Born in North Adams on Dec. 6, 1929, son of Anthony Francis and Celina Perras Barbuto, he attended schools in North Adams, including Drury High School. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Barbuto was employed by the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1991. He also had worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. until 1974. He was a member of the Northern Berkshire Retired Men's Club and a member of the Stamford (Vt.) Valley Golf Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. His wife, the former Mary Lucy Aubut Tenney, whom he married on Sept. 17, 1988, died on Sept. 17, 2006. He leaves a son, Robert T. Barbuto Jr. and his wife, Leah, of Plainfield, Conn.; a daughter, Lynn Ann Moreau of North Adams; two brothers, Albert Barbuto of Dalton and Russell Barbuto of North Adams; three grandchildren, Robert Moreau, Marc Moreau and Haley Moreau; a great-grandson, Dominic Moreau, and his former wife, Geraldine Barbuto. He was predeceased his brother Anthony "Sonny" Barbuto and three sisters, Marie Dargie, Aurora Oliver and Thelma Kelley. FUNERAL NOTICE — Graveside services with full military honors will take place Wednesday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for Relay for Life through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, Mass.
