Helen Walden, 92

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Helen Walden, 92, of 85 Eagle St. died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in Williamstown on Sept. 14, 1917, a daughter of Harry E. and Jessie B. Conrad Torrey, she attended schools there and graduated from the former Williamstown High School. Ms. Walden was employed for 36 years by the commonwealth of Massachusetts as a clerk in the local Welfare Department office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She loved flowers and cats. She leaves her loving extended family, Francis "Chip" and Rita Chapman, Kim Chapman and Judy Chapman, all of Williamstown. Her brother, Leonard L. Torrey, died April 10, 1931 FUNERAL NOTICE — Memorial services for Ms. Walden will take place Thursday, April 22, at 11 at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Williamstown or to the charity of the donor's choice through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
