Saverio J. Jammallo, 84

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Saverio Joseph "Sam" Jammallo, 84, of 75 Veazie St. died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at home. Born in North Adams on Aug. 10, 1925, son of Joseph and Catherine Gerace Jammallo, he attended city schools and graduated from Drury High School. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Philippines. Mr. Jammallo was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1970. He was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church. He was a member of Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion and the Sprague Retirees. He leaves two sisters, Rita Maroni and Teresa Jammallo, both of North Adams, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. His siblings Angelena Colo, Mary Jammallo and Augustino Jammallo are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Jammallo will be celebrated Saturday, April 10, at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams.
