Margaret A. Darling, 73
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Margaret A. "Peggy" Darling, 73, of 45 Cady St. died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the Sweet Brook Care Centers after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 9, 1936, a daughter of Mary Emma Moffitt Jobin of Clarksburg and the late Peter F. Jobin, she attended the former Archer Elementary School in Blackinton and Brayton School. She graduated from Drury High School in 1955.
Mrs. Darling was employed as a criminal procedure clerk at Northern Berkshire District Court from 1973 until retiring in December 1999. She had first worked in the shipping department of the former Sprague Electric Co. from 1955 until 1966, when she left to spend more time with her family.
Her husband, Adrian J. "Abe" Darling, whom she married Feb. 7, 1959, died April 12, 2007.
Besides her mother, she leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, James M. and Elizabeth Goodell Darling and William A. and Laurie Wanat Darling, all of North Adams; a daughter, Michelle M. Darling of North Adams; a brother, Peter R. Jobin and his wife, Marianne, of Endicott, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Dylan and Lindsay Darling; a brother-in-law, Andrew Darling and his wife, Melissa, of Ohio, and her nieces Stacey, Brooke, Cindy, Lynn and Linda.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Darling will take place Thursday, April 1, at 11 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 31, from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Police Department's Ropes Camp or the activities fund of Abbott Memorial School in the town of Florida through the funeral home.
