Jane Ann Solari, 77
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Jane Ann Solari, 77, of 7 Ivory St. died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on July 25, 1932, daughter of Raoul and Sylvia Foisey Delisle, she attended city schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1950.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Solari had worked in the sales office of Sprague Electric Co. prior to her marriage. In her later years, she worked at the North Adams Transcript.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and taking trips to Foxwoods Casino. Mrs. Solari excelled at knitting and also maintained a flower garden.
She and her husband, Peter J. Solari, were married on July 21, 1956, in the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, Lynn Nelson and her husband, Stephen, of North Adams, Anne Douglas and her husband, Glen, of Castro Valley, Calif., Kathleen Auerbach and her husband, Lou, of Belmont and Melissa Pehlert and her husband, Craig, of Lenox; a sister, Gloria Senecal of North Adams, seven grandchildren, Sarah Nelson Smith, Seth Nelson, Jake Douglas, Caroline Douglas, Jessica Auerbach, Rosemary Pehlert and Julie Pehlert, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters Patricia Arigoni and Marilyn DelGrasso.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Solari will be celebrated Wednesday, March 17, at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday morning from 9 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire or St. Elizabeth's Church in care of the funeral home.
