Cheryl A. Pero, 58

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Cheryl A. Pero, 58, of 96 Tremont St. died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at home. Born in Pittsfield on April 29, 1951, a daughter of Alvin Smith and Mary Rahilly Smith-Miller, she attended schools there and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1969. Mrs. Pero was employed at the former General Electric in Pittsfield for 23 years. She was active in the IUE Local 255, holding several offices including direct officer. Known by friends as "Sherry," she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother She and her husband, Daniel Pero, were married on Oct. 10, 1975, in Hinsdale. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Rebecca Joy Dodge and her husband, Jeremy, of the town of Florida and Jaycee Pero Stred and her husband, Brent, of North Adams; a brother, Donald Henneberger of Springfield, and four grandchildren, Chloe Pero-Carrigan, Danika Dodge, Isabella Dodge and Mason Stred. She was predeceased by another brother and three sisters, Gary A. Smith, June Cwirka, Linda Smith and Diane Rose. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Pero will take place Wednesday, March 3, at 10 from the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
