Anne T. Westall, 91
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Anne T. Westall, 91, of 310-A Bressett Road died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at Sweet Brook Care Centers.
Born in Jamaica Plain on Sept. 21, 1918, daughter of Edward and Mary Cunniffe Ryan, she graduated from St. Mary's High School in Waltham and attended the former North Adams State College, now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Westall was employed by Recording for the Blind for several years in the 1970s.
She was a communicant of Sts. Patrick and Raphael's Parish. Her family will always remember the many evenings spent playing cards and how much she enjoyed it. She was fond of crossword puzzles, was an excellent cook and loved her cats. For 20 years, she spent winters in Fort Myers, Fla., where she enjoyed playing golf and doing ceramics.
Her husband, James R. Westall, first superintendent of the Northern Berkshire Vocational School District, died on Jan. 11, 1999. They were married Sept. 22, 1940.
She leaves two sons, David J. Westall and his wife, Darcy, of Williamstown and Richard E. Westall and his wife, Ann, of Wheaton, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Westall of Williamstown; seven grandchildren, Nicole Westall, Jacqueline Draper, Ethan Westall, Zachary Westall, Andi Westall, Hannah Westall and Alison Mossey; a great-granddaughter, Laila Mossey, and seven nieces and nephews in the Boston area.
She was predeceased by another son, Donald J. Westall on June 10, 2009, and her brothers John and Edward Ryan and sisters Mary Gaidys and Margaret Thomas.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A celebration of the life of Mrs. Westall will take place at a later date to be announced by the family.
