Ann M. Tassone, 89

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. â€' Ann Mildred Tassone, 89, of 93 Nutmeg Lane, The Spruces, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Williamstown Commons. Born in Adams, Mass. on May 4, 1920, daughter of John and Josephine Zieba Ziemba, she graduated from the former Adams High School in 1939 and attended a hairdressing school in Pittsfield. She lived for many years on Edgewood Avenue in North Adams. Mrs. Tassone was employed at McCann Technical School in North Adams as a hairdressing instructor for 18 years, until her retirement in 1982. She was first employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams before working as a hairdresser. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and of the former Incarnation Church, where she was a member of the Women's Guild, all in North Adams. She was a longtime New York Yankees fan, and enjoyed dancing with her husband and trips to Saratoga (N.Y.) Race Track. Her husband, Joseph R. Tassone, whom she married Feb. 13, 1943, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams, died Oct. 26, 2001. She leaves a daughter, Dianne Filiault and her husband, Richard, of North Adams; three sons, Gerald Tassone and his wife, Bette Ann, of Bel Air, Md., Guy Tassone of Williamstown and Terrence Tassone and his wife, Rita, of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Nellie Marko of Adams; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Three other sisters and two brothers, Vera Gaskalka, Helene Albano, Laura Ziemba, Stanley Ziemba and William Ziemba, are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE â€' Services for Mrs. Tassone will be Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 10:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Jan. 19, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to COTY/Haiti Earthquake Relief fund or the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.

Your mom was one of a kind!! A real sweetheart with a great sense of humor........She had just the right amount of feistiness in her to keep Joe running in circles - which he grumbled about but wouldn't have had it any other way!
I'm sad for your loss and I know you'll miss her, BUT, take comfort in knowing she 's now in Heaven, reunited with your dad - the love of her life !!!!!!

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was such a loving and pleasant woman. I enjoyed watching your parents dancing the polkas at parties held by the McAnn faculty parties.she will ber missed.
