Margaret Leete, 93

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Margaret "Peg" Leete, 93, of 332 North St. died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Cambridge on Aug. 22, 1916, daughter of James and Elizabeth Booth Burnett, she attended Williamstown schools and graduated from the former Williamstown High School. Mrs. Leete was employed by Williams College in the Alumni Relations office for 35 years, until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of First Congregational Church. She was an avid golfer, playing until age 87, and was a member of Taconic Golf Club. She also enjoyed knitting and reading. Her husband, William M. Leete, whom she married Aug. 28, 1940, died Aug. 25, 1983. She leaves two sons, David W. Leete and his wife, Carol, of Coventry, Conn., and William M. Leete Jr. of Niantic, Conn.; a sister, Jean Potter of North Guilford, Conn.; five grandchildren, Tracy Bohr and her husband, Jacob, Kathleen Sanders and her husband, Eric, Randolph Leete and his wife, Sarah, William M. Leete III and Amy Van Dyke and her husband, William; seven great-grandchildren, Hanna, Tyler, Shanise, Stephanie, Christopher, Maya and Molly, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers James Burnett and William Burnett and another daughter-in-law, Cathie Leete. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Leete will be Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 1 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from noon to 1 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, PO Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061.
