Alice R. Filiault, 87
CLARKSBURG, Mass. - Alice Rose Filiault, 87, of 58 Carson Ave. died peacefully Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at her home.
Born in Clarksburg on Oct. 24, 1922, daughter of David A. Mulvaney Sr. and Emma Reindeau Mulvaney, she attended Clarksburg schools and Drury High School in North Adams.
Mrs. Filiault was employed by the former Photech Mill in Williamstown for about 15 years, until her retirement in 1983. She first worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. through World War II and then stayed home to raise her family for about 20 years. She returned to Sprague for a few years.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She was a member of the Clarksburg Council on Aging and the Clarksburg Senior Center. She worked the election polls in Clarksburg for more than 25 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed photography and was an avid fan of golf and the Boston Red Sox.
Her husband, Joseph Leo Filiault, whom she married Dec. 1, 1945, died Feb. 1, 1994.
She leaves a son, John J. "Jack" Filiault and his wife, Carol, of Williamstown; a daughter, Jeanne Dickie and her husband, James, of Pownal, Vt.; a sister, Anna Mulvaney Mariani of North Adams; six grandchildren, Tammy Ann Niedzinski and Tammy Jean Moxley, both of Bennington, Vt., Holly Haas of Pownal, Diane Boulerice of Pittsfield, J.J. Mulvaney Filiault of New Ashford and Jared J. Filiault of Adams; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her four brothers James Mulvaney, David Mulvaney, Edward Mulvaney and John Mulvaney, who died Sept. 24, 2009.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Filiault will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 11:30 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery.
Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, will be Wednesday morning from 9 to 11. Memorial donations may be made to Village Ambulance or Second Chance Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home.
