Mearl E. Burdick Sr., 72
FLORIDA, Mass. — Mearl Edgar Burdick Sr., 72, of Waterford, Conn., formerly of Florida, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, in Waterford.
Born in North Adams on June 18, 1937, son of Lyman and Doris Mogul Burdick, he attended Drury High School in North Adams. He also had resided in Williamstown.
Mr. Burdick was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams and later in the construction industry.
He was a member of Florida Baptist Church.
He leaves a daughter, Tammy Delaney of Mays Lick, Ky.; two sons, Mark Burdick of Groton, Conn., and Mearl E. Burdick Jr. of Northwood, N.H.; three sisters, Doris Benson of Stamford, Vt., Phyllis Porter of Burlington and Linda Pettigrew of Wellesley; three brothers, Clayton Burdick of Key Largo, Fla., Glenn Burdick of Florida and Edward Burdick of North Adams; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons and a daughter, Todd Burdick, Christopher Burdick and Wendy Burdick, and two sisters and a brother, Anita Kuczinski, Beatrice Bishop and Lyman Burdick Jr.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Burdick will be Monday, Oct. 19, at 11 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery in Florida.
Calling hours are Monday from 10 until the service at the funeral home.
