Mable I. O'Brien, 83

SANDISFIELD, Mass. — Mable Irene O'Brien, 83, of South Beech Plain Road died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at home. Born in Sandisfield on Nov. 18, 1925, the daughter of Howard and Isabelle Crocker Spring, she attended local schools. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. O'Brien was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her husband of 59 years, William O'Brien; her son, William O'Brien Jr. of Sandisfield; her sister, Cora Rorback of Sandisfield; five grandchildren, Jennifer Crelease, Christina, Patrick, Robert Jr., and Holly O'Brien, and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Robert O'Brien, in February 2009, and by three brothers and two sisters. FUNERAL NOTICE — The family of Mr. O'Brien invites friends and family to join them for a graveside service celebrating her life on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. at Sandisfield Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Brian Care. There will be no calling hours. Finnerty and Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington is handling the arrangements.
