Marion M. Duffy, 98

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marion Margaret Duffy, 98, of 85 Eagle St. died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at the Williamstown Commons. Born in North Adams on Dec. 6, 1910, a daughter of John and Mary Agnes Cunneely Kelly, she graduated from Drury High School in 1928 and was the last surviving member of that class. Mrs. Duffy was employed with the late John Bond in his real estate office until retiring in 1983. In her younger years, she was employed at the former Arnold Print Works and former Sprague Electric Co. for several years. She was a longtime communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She was a member of the Northern Berkshire Professional and Business Women's Club, Berkshire Chorale and the North Adams Senior Citizens club. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She lived her life in a positive manner and always looked on the bright side of things. Her husband, North Adams Police Officer William Earl Duffy, whom she married June 26, 1937, in St. Francis' Church, died Jan. 17, 1963. She leaves a daughter, Marianne Judge and her husband, William, of Williamstown; three grandchildren, Colleen Judge Martin and her husband, Tee, Kathleen Judge Igoe and her husband, Jonathan, and Duffy Judge and his companion, Brooke Mead, all of Williamstown; six great-grandchildren, Maggie, Thomas, Alexander, Lucy, Judge and William, and two nephews, Stephen Duffy and the Rev. Michael Duffy, OFM. She was predeceased by two sons, William F. Duffy in 1984 and Paul A. Duffy in 1987, and two brothers, James Kelly in 1965 and Francis Kelly in 1967. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services will take place Friday at 10:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for Elder Services of Berkshire County through the funeral home.
