Margaret Robinson, 93
SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Margaret Robinson, 93, of Foley Road died Thursday evening, May 14, 2009, at home.
Born on Jan. 28, 1916, in Astoria, N.Y., daughter of Alberto and Anna Falco Devoti, she attended New York City public schools. She had been a resident of the area this area for the past 60 years.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Robinson was a volunteer at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington and received the Abbey Brent Award in 1985 for her service to the American Red Cross, for which she was chairman of the Red Cross in Southern Berkshire Motor Corp. She was a woman who, above all, loved her family.
Her husband, Abbott Combes Robinson, whom she married on March 8, 1935, in Astoria in deceased.
She leaves her nieces Bertha Banta and Karen Devoti, both of Long Island, N.Y.; her nephews William Devoti and his wife, Dorothy, and Frederick Speyrer and his wife, Mary Jane, and Glenn Devoti and his wife, Cathy, all of Sheffield, Wayne Speyrer of Schodack, N.Y., and Tom Devoti and his wife, Elsie, of Egremont, and numerous grandnieces and -nephews.
She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Liturgy of the Word celebrating the life of Mrs. Robinson will be conducted Tuesday, May 19, at 10 from Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington by the Rev. Henry Kowalczyk. Burial will follow in Sheffield Center Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 18, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
