Ashley A. Morin, 21

WINSTED, Conn. — Ashley Anne Morin, 21, of Winsted died May 2, 2009, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. Born in Winsted on Oct. 4, 1987, daughter of Edward and Trina Stalker Morin, she was currently a senior at Northwestern Regional High School in Barkhamsted. Ms. Morin loved watching television, especially wrestling, and listening to the different sounds. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and loved to read and be outdoors. Besides her parents, she leaves her sister Karen Morin of Winsed; two brothers, Edward Phair and Andrew Morin, both of Winsted; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Beatrice Morin of Winsted; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Elaine Stalker of Egremont, Mass.; her aunt Mildred Perry, who resides with her family and was more like a grandmother to her; two nieces, two nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Heather Morin and her maternal grandmother Karen Ball Stalker. FUNERAL NOTICE — Services celebrating the life of Ashley Morin will be conducted on Saturday, May 9, at noon at Finnerty and Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington by the Rev. Charles VanAusdall. Burial will follow in Ashley Falls Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ashley Morin Memorial Fund through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. As a program supervisor at Oak Hill, I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley at her school recently, and I found her to be a wonderful and charming young lady.
