Mary E. Wheeler, 74
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mary Elizabeth Wheeler, 74, of 82 Bracewell Ave. died Saturday afternoon, April 25, 2009, at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Greenfield on July 24, 1934, daughter of Garold and Alice Truesdell, she attended schools in Rowe and Drury High School. She graduated from Charlemont High School with the class of 1952.
Primarily a homemaker,Mrs. Wheeler was very devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Her husband, John E. Wheeler, whom she married Jan. 30, 1954, died on Aug. 17, 1987.
She leaves four sons, Michael D. Wheeler, William H. Wheeler, John F. Wheeler and Peter A. Wheeler, all of North Adams; four daughters, Melissa A. Hightower of Allentown, Pa., Julia L. Dean of Milford, Pa., Teresa I. Culpepper-Rysz of the town of Florida and Patricia E. Phillips of North Adams; a brother, Richard H. Truesdell of Bushnell, Fla.; a sister, Katherine A. Truesdell; 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews
She is predeceased by her sons Timothy J. Wheeler and Louis E. Wheeler, her grandchildren Timothy Wheeler and Bethany Dean, and a great-grandson, Richard Wheeler.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Private graveside services for Mrs. Wheeler will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
