John C. Mills, 52
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — John Christian "Chris" Mills, 52, of North Plain Road, Housatonic, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009.
Born in Waltham on Feb. 9, 1957, he was the son of Robert A. Mills and the late Joan MacDonald Mills.
Mr. Mills worked as a carpenter and construction supervisor with Peter Whitehead Builders.
He lived his life in the Berkshires and had a large community of friends whose lives he touched and who filled his. He was known as a wonderful dad, fine craftsman, cook and humorist.
Besides his parents, Robert and Cecily Mills of Glendale, he leaves two daughters, Caitlin Stivaletta and her partner, Bryan Fender, of San Diego and Sarah Mills of Great Barrington; a son, Will Mills of Great Barrington; two brothers, Robert Mills and his wife, Joy, of Charlton and Darrow Hoeck of Denver, and a foster brother, Fernando Godoy; three sisters, Laurie Mills of Concord, Tracy Hoeck of Pittsfield and Melissa French and her husband, Bill, of Berwick, Maine; a grandson, Rylan Fender; his former wife, Julie Milani, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends, including Peter and Jean Whitehead of Great Barrington.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A gathering of remembrance of the life of Mr. Mills will be held on Wednesday, April 22, at 4 p.m. at Crissey Farms on Stockbridge Road in Great Barrington. The family will receive friends at Crissey Farms following the gathering until 7 p.m.
