Doris V. Dickinson, 82
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Doris Virginia Dickinson, 82, of 80 Champagne Ave. died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center from injuries suffered from a fall on Thursday.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 4, 1927, a daughter of John and Virginia Roberts Burdick, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Dickinson was last employed as a housekeeper for several area families. She also worked at the former Sprague Electric and Jarisch Paper Box companies in North Adams.
She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Williamstown Methodist Church and the Friendship Club. She enjoyed walking and spending time with her family, and bingo and crafts.
She and her husband, Richard W. Dickinson, were married on April 25, 1997, on Anna Maria Island, Fla.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Stephen J. Hurlbut of Rockland and Samuel J. Hurlbut of North Adams; a daughter, Sandra J. Diggens of Tariffville, Conn.; five grandchildren, Christopher Hurlbut, Jessica Halton, Eugenia Zeoli, Tiffany Hurlbut and Brian Diggens, a great-granddaughter, Khelslynn Lorin Hurlbut, and nieces and nephews.
A brother, Ralph O. Burdick, is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Burdick will be Thursday, April 16, at 10 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7. Donations may be made to Village Ambulance in care of the funeral home.
