Adam J. Cartinelli, 40

SHEFFIELD, Mass. â€' Adam John Cartinelli, 40, of Silver Street died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at home after a short illness. Born in Great Barrington on Nov. 21, 1968, son of Barbara Wilbur Cartinelli and the late David K. Cartinelli, he was a lifelong resident of Sheffield, graduating from Mount Everett Regional School. He continued to achieve his goals in life at the Center for Development, now located in Lee. Mr. Cartinelli spent endless hours listening to music, especially country-western. He loved being outdoors, listening to the birds and experiencing nature. He also loved going to the Lee center with all of his friends, said family, where his insatiable appetite for learning was fed. His greatest love and joy was his family, who is especially thankful for the amazing care and compassion given to him by Berkshire Hematology and Oncology, specifically Dr. Sean Mullally, and HospiceCare in the Berkshires. His loved ones are eternally grateful. Besides his mother, with whom he resided, he leaves his sister, Christine Cartinelli Smith and her husband, Patrick, of Brunswick, N.Y.; his caregivers Mary Hoover and Lori Smith, his uncle Richard Cartinelli and many friends. He will be remembered and missed by all those whose lives he touched. FUNERAL NOTICE â€' A Mass celebrating the life of Mr. Cartinelli will be conducted on Saturday, March 28, at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of the Valley Church in Sheffield by the Rev. Henry Kowalczyk, pastor. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 27, from 4 until 7 at Finnerty and Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. Donations in his memory may be made to Cross International Catholic Outreach for the Children, an organization that builds fresh-water wells for communities in Third World countries, through the funeral Home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Remembrances, memories and reflections may be sent to the family through www.finnertyandstevens.com.
