Shirley E. Harris, 79
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Shirley Esther Harris, 79, of 18 Mill St. died Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Aug. 24, 1929, a daughter of Gordon and Anna Strong Stedman, she attended schools in Saratoga.
Mrs. Harris was employed by Wal-Mart in North Adams for the past six years. She had earlier worked in the former Kmart Store in North Adams, the former General Cable Co. and the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Her husband, Charles Edward Harris, whom she married June 18, 1949, died on Sept. 15, 1996.
She leaves a daughter, Debbie Ann Ciuk of Adams; three sons, Michael P. Harris of Chesterfield, David M. Harris of Tucson, Ariz., and Timothy J. Harris of Kent, Wash.; five grandchildren, Jamie Harris, Jason Harris, Shannon Ciuk, Jacob Ciuk and Zachary Ciuk, and two great-grandchildren, Christiana Harris and Jason Harris Jr.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Graveside committal services for Mrs. Harris will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. There will be no calling hours.
