Carol A. Beer Pisano, 63
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Carol Ann Beer Pisano, 63, of 20 Marietta St. died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 8, 1945, daughter of Alvin and Beatrice Peltier Marsh, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School.
Mrs. Pisano was employed by Price Chopper Supermarket on State Road and at its former location on Curran Highway as a cashier, front-end supervisor and in the office, until her retirement in December 2007. She also had been a school bus driver for JT Bus Lines for many years when her children were young.
She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and loved to read a good book. She was a member of the Women's Bowling league at Mount Greylock Bowl and had ran clubs at McClelland's Gift Shop and the former Martin's Shoe Store. Her greatest joys were Sunday dinners, family vacations at Hampton Beach, N.H., and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Forever an optimist with a cheerful outlook, her family said she never failed to bring a smile to people's faces. She was truly an inspiration to all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
Her first husband, William Beer, is deceased.
Her husband, Dominic A. Pisano, whom she married Aug. 20, 1969, died Nov. 12, 2003.
She leaves five daughters, Jo Ann Ryckman and her husband, James, of Lansing, Mich., Susan Wood and her husband, Randy, of Clarksburg, and Denise Krutiak and her husband, Philip, Kathleen Sage and Lisa Marie Pisano, all of North Adams; a son, Anthony "Tony" Pisano and his wife, Leila, of North Adams; a brother, Thomas Marsh of Pensacola, Fla.; her mother in law, Alice Pisano of North Adams, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Pisano will be Friday, Jan. 30, at 10:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, formerly St. Anthony's. Burial will be in the spring in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 to 7. Memorial donations may be made to the North Adams Ambulance Service, the American Diabetes Association, or Friends of Renal Dialysis at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield in care of the funeral home.
