Phyllis E. Neville, 88
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Phyllis E. Neville, 88, of Clarksburg died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at North Adams Commons.
Born in Adams on June 24, 1920, daughter of John and Celia Demastrie Raymond, she attended schools there, graduating from the former Adams High School.
A homemaker, Mrs. Neville had been employed at the former Berkshire Mills in Adams in her younger years. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her focus was on caring for her family and her home.
She was a longtime member of First Congregational Church of North Adams, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the parent-teacher group.
Her husband, Robert Neville Jr., whom she married March 24, 1941, died July 10, 1990.
She leaves two daughters, Barbara Quirk and her husband, James, of Clarksburg and Karen Horrigan and her husband, James, of Woodford, Vt.; a son, Robert Neville of Williamstown; a brother, John Raymond of the state of Florida; a sister, Joan Dubis of Adams; four grandchildren, Shaun Horrigan, Amy McCormack, Lynn Waltermire and Lisa Cacciatore, six great-grandchildren, Lainey and Phin McCormack, Nicholas and Celia Waltermire and Olivia and Charles Cacciatore, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Donald Raymond and Norma Sondrini and Janet Cairns.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services will take place Tuesday morning at 11 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will take place in Clarksburg Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 9 to 11.
Because of Mrs. Neville's love and devotion to children, memorial donations are suggested for the St. Jude's Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
