Wallitta E. Jordan, 82
ADAMS, Mass. â€' Wallitta Eleanor Jordan, 82, of 36 Notch Road died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., on June 17, 1926, daughter of Walter and Gladys Rosenberg Nason, she attended schools there.
Mrs. Jordan was primarily a homemaker; she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church North Adams. She was an active in the community, volunteering at the annual bazaar at Notre Dame Church, with the Santa Fund, the Harvest Christian Ministries soup kitchen and at local nursing homes. She received the UNO Neighborhood Award.
Her husband, Arthur L. Jordan, whom she married June 17, 1945, died on Dec. 8, 1979.
She leaves two daughters, Joyce Turoczy of Adams, with whom she made her home, and Lynn Chase of North Adams; two brothers, Howard Nason of Cambridge, N.Y., and Robert Nason of Troy, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Connie Jean Kingsley, Sherry Ludwig, Robert Turoczy Jr., Tanya Jean Guerin, Jennifer Ferreira and Stephanie Chase, six great-grandchilden and nieces and nephews.
Another daughter, Barbara Tatro, and her sisters Ruth Urno and Marion Petri are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral for Mrs. Jordan will be Monday afternoon, Dec. 29, at 1 at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, will be Sunday from 3 to 5.
