Norma Delisle, 92
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Norma Sanford (Tanner) Delisle 92, of North Adams died Thursday December 19, 2024 at her home. She was born in North Adams on July 16, 1932 the daughter of Dewey and Beatrice Tanner.
Norma was raised in Stamford, VT where she attended school, graduating from Drury High School in 1950. Norma married Robert Delisle in 1955, spending several years as a homemaker. Once her children were in school, she worked as a teacher aide at Greylock School. In 1977 Norma began her tenure at the North Adams Hoosac Bank starting as a teller and ultimately earning promotion to Customer Service Officer. After retirement Norma worked part time at the David & Joyce Milne Public Library in Williamstown.
Norma was a voracious reader, enjoying a wide range of fiction genres. She enjoyed being with family particularly her grandchildren, and bowling with her league, even though she was never very good. But nothing beat going out to eat - especially Pedrin’s - almost always ordering a hotdog and chocolate shake.
Survivors include her children Dr. Jeffrey DeLisle (Julie), Lisa Flynn (Dennis), Laurie Calabrese (Frank), her nine grandchildren and her four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by spouse, Robert Delisle, brother Donald Tanner, sisters Eleanor Mattingly and Beatrice Tisdale.
In her later years, Norma was able to live independently thanks in large part to Peggy Ciepiela and Richard Brague who gave her the day to day support she needed to remain in the house she had called home since 1960.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place at Saints Patrick and Raphael Church in Williamstown at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday December 28, 2024. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, MA. A calling hour will be held on Saturday at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA at 8:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Norma’s name may be made to PopCares or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through the funeral home.
