Lorraine Ciepiela, 94

 

 

 

Lorraine M. R. (Richards) Ciepiela of North Adams died Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving children. She was born in North Adams on April 5, 1930 a daughter of the late Oliva and Marie Marguerite (Robert) Richards.

Lorriane graduated from the Commercial Course at Notre Dame du Sacre-Coeur Parochial High School. She also attended Bliss Business College in North Adams.

She was employed at Sprague Electric Co. as a secretary for several years and then as a cashier at Price Chopper Supermarket in North Adams. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in North Adams where she was a member of Le Cercle Francais Club, Rosary Society and the Bingo Committee. Lorraine enjoyed travel to Reno, Nevada, playing bingo and going to the casinos. She was very determined and often out spoken but generous to a fault.

Her husband Frederick Stephan Ciepiela whom she married July 29, 1950 in Notre Dame Church died April 7, 2006. Survivors include her children Kathleen L. Ciepiela Martin (Ray Hartman), Karolen L. Ciepiela Plante (Joseph), Ronald F. Ciepiela, Glenn A. Ciepiela (Vicki) and David T. Ciepiela (Wendy Bryant). Grandchildren Zachary Martin, Ashley Ciepiela, Taylor Ciepiela, Thomas Ciepiela, Tyler Ciepiela, Corey Ciepiela, James Ciepiela and Jonathan Ciepiela. She also leaves six great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by a daughter Melissa A. Ciepiela, son James R. Ciepiela and sisters and brother Jeannette Richards, Joan Rosa, Blanche Richards and Oliver Richards.

Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday December 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, CENTRAL Chapels, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, Ma. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams, MA., A calling hour will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested for the Perkins School for the Blind through the funeral home.
