Michael R. DeMarsico, 63

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Michael Robert DeMarsico, age 63, our guiding compass and anchor to our family, was taken from us through a tragic accident on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024.

He was born in North Adams, the son of the late Robert J. DeMarsico and Rena E. DeMarsico. He graduated from Drury High School in 1981.

Mike was employed as a maintainer at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Before this, he worked at KM Motors as a detailer following the closure of North Adams Regional Hospital where he was employed as a courier.

Mike was a member of the First Baptist Church and above all a loving, devoted husband of 38 years to his best friend Lisa Babcock DeMarsico whom he married on Aug. 22, 1986. His deepest pride and joy were his children. Mike had three daughters, Aubrey (TJ) Harmon of Pittsfield, Kailey (David) Sookey of North Adams and Leigha DeMarsico of North Adams, and one son, Adam (Emily) DeMarsico of Cohoes, NY. Mike was a loving Papa to four grandchildren, Landon and Ryleigh Harmon, Nazeerah Sookey, and Easton DeMarsico.

He leaves two brothers Anthony (Esther) DeMarsico North Adams and Glen (Cheryl) DeMarsico Adams; an aunt, Rosella Cote of Williamstown, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

His son, U.S. Army Spc. Michael Robert DeMarsico II, was killed in action in Afghanistan on Aug. 16, 2012.
