David E. Bushey, 68

POWNAL, Vt. —  

Mr. David Edward Bushey, 68, of Pownal, formerly of North Adams, died on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

He was born in North Adams on March 1, 1956, a son of the late Edward and Patricia (O’Brien) Bushey. He attended schools in North Adams.

Mr. Bushey was a mechanic for many years for Cariddi Auto, North Adams and Greylock Ice and Fuel, Adams. Most recently, he drove taxi in North Adams. Mr. Bushey was an avid fisherman who participated is several fishing tournaments with his son during the last 25 years.

His wife, the former Barbara J. Gamache, whom he married on December 1, 1979, died on June 8, 2018.

He is survived by his son, David Bushey, Jr. (Janet); two daughters, Christine Bushey (Tom Moore) and Shannon Zyra (Kenneth); his companion, Donna Gessing; six grandchildren, Elliot, Hannah, Katelyn, Damien, Taylor and Collin; three brothers, Edward, Bruce and Robert Bushey and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Barbara Bushey, his granddaughter, Emily Bushey and by two brothers, Joseph and William Bushey.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 27th at 10:00 A.M. at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. There are no calling hours.
