Carolyn A. Benscoter, 71

WINDSOR, Mass. —  Mrs. Carolyn A. Benscoter, of Windsor, passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, November 18, 2024, just 4 days shy of celebrating her 72nd birthday. Born in Newton, MA, on November 22, 1952, daughter of the late Walter and Edith Hall Stewart, she graduated from Pittsfield High School. Later, Carolyn would go on to earn multiple associate degrees from Berkshire Community College—in Business Careers, Liberal Arts, and Registered Nursing.

Carolyn began her career at General Electric as an Analyst in 1975. After 20 years, she began a secretarial position in Engineering. She would continue in that area, later working for Crane and Company and AdLib, from where she retired in 2018.

Carolyn loved her family dearly and, even though she was always cold, wouldn’t hesitate to give the jacket off her back. She enjoyed spending time skiing, quilting, Disney pin-trading, reading, rollerblading, and, of course, eating copious amounts of sweets!

Carolyn was an active participant in her community. She was a member of the Central Berkshire Regional School District Committee. Carolyn volunteered as the treasurer and chairperson of the Cub Scout Pack 93 and Boy Scout Troop 93 in Windsor, MA. Carolyn was an avid skier and member of the Mogul Master’s Ski Club.

Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Glenn Benscoter, whom she married on May 29, 1992. She leaves behind her son, Erik S. Benscoter (Jessica Schell), as well as her sister, Gloria Stewart.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Stewart.
