Bruce Alan Lillie, 76
ADAMS, Mass. —
Bruce Allan Lillie, 76, of Adams, passed away peacefully in his home on November 14, 2024.
Born in North Adams on May 8, 1948, the son of Wilfred “Bud” and Gladys Lillie, he went to McCann Technical Vocational High School in the Metal Fabrication program where he was part of the GE Millright CO-OP Program from 1966 until graduating in June of 1968.
In 1970, Bruce started his own Auto Sales and Repair business, which he sold in September 1974 when he was hired by General Electric to become a welder in Building 14. He kept doing auto and body work on a part time basis for years after that. After leaving GE, Bruce obtained his CDL license then opened his next business, Lillie’s Enterprises, which he operated until 2014.
Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and the occasional casino trip! He was also a long-time member and at times an officer of the Adams Elks club, a member of the Greylock Archers, and the Adams Outdoorsmen for Youth, which he was a loyal member for 30+ years. Throughout those years he held every office in the organization, towed their trailer to and from fishing derby’s, volunteered his garage and time to build floats for the Fall Foliage Parade, which one year won the Hayden Award! Bruce was always willing to help and had a large circle of good friends.
Bruce was pre-deceased by his son, Brian Michael Lillie. He is survived by his daughter, Bethany Metzgar of West Chester, PA and his son, Scott Lillie of Lee, MA, as well as his 4 grandchildren, Courtney Bresett and her husband Matt of Medford, MA, Kylee Lillie of Pittsfield, MA, Michael Lillie of Lee, MA, and Brian Metzgar of West Chester, PA, and great grandson, Kaiyzen Monson of Pittsfield, MA. Bruce is also survived by his brothers, Wayne Lillie, Ronald Lillie, Gary Lillie and Mark Lillie, their spouses and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Notice: Burial services will be private and in the future for the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 25th, from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Trottier-Pringle Funeral Home, 6 Summer Street, Adams. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Adams Outdoorsmen for Youth or Elder Services of the Berkshires through the funeral home, 74 Marshall Street, North Adams, MA 01247.
