Tinker White, 69

Tinker T. White

September 10, 1954-November 12, 2024

Williamstown

I write this with great sadness. My mother has gained her "Harley" wings. She was a legend of the original Purple Pub and Spring Street itself.

She was known for hosting many parties, especially the one where she blocked off part of Water Street. Due to parking issues, she of course let her friends park their Harley Davidson's in our living room. She was always the life of the party.

Anyone who knew her, loved her immediately with her colorful personality. She did always make it clear to not get on her "bad side". That is who she was, blunt and upfront.

As the holidays are fast approaching, my favorite memories were at Christmas time. We always made a huge batch of sugar cookies and would bring them to the Clip Shop crew. Then, of course ,the Christmas Eve parties at the Pub were so fun. I always woke up to very cool things on Christmas morning.

Her decorating and artistic abilities were amazing. She knew how to make something out of nothing. Our homes were always cozy.

She will be missed by many people, especially me. No matter how rocky our mother/daughter relationship was, I always protected her. She instilled her strength, courage, and "take no names", attitude into me at a very young age. Tinker was a fighter, and a good one at that.

Her two grandsons, Christian and Nicholas always said she was a "wild grandma". They did have many chuckles together.

Please now rest peacefully, enjoy being back with Nana and Papa and all of your "Pubbie" friends who got there before you. I will take it from here, by the horns, as you always used to say.

I love you Mom.

Tinker you will be missed. Your daughter nailed it when she described that you could be "blunt and upfront" a quality I appreaciated in you but it wasn't everyone cup of tea. On the interior though you were a free spirited person with a heart of gold . I remember your wonderful laugh. I hope that where ever you are Tinker that you are filling beautiful baskets with wildflowers, finding those pub friends and feeling at peace.

I knew Arlene as a child growing up in Williamstown. I think we’re related somehow. She & her family were always kind & friendly on our visits. Sounds like she lived her life on her terms. I love it! A life well lived.
Comfort & peace to her family & friends.

So sad to hear of Tinkers passing. We grew up together in the same neighborhood. Tinker was like a sister who kept us laughing when she was around. Tinker taught us how to make cake frosting that ended up on our faces instead of the cake. Loved you my sister neighbor and we will see you again.
