Bradley Alexander Briggs, Sr
HINSDALE, Mass. — Bradley A. Briggs, Sr. (McGee), 90, of Hinsdale, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, November 1, 2024 at the home of his daughter. Born in Adams on December 01, 1933, he was the son of Richard L. and Florence (LaFountain) Briggs. He attended Adams schools.
Bradley served in the U.S. Army as a tank crewman in Company B, 826th Tank Battalion, 4th Armor Group in Germany from 1955 to 1957.
He was employed for many years by Commonwealth of Massachusetts Bridge Maintenance Dept until his retirement in 1993. Prior to that, he was employed by Flynn Volkswagen as a mechanic for many years.
Bradley was a loving and caring father, who enjoyed spending time with his kids and later his grandkids. He enjoyed working on cars, bowling, watching softball, gardening, bird watching, trains, and going to train and steam engine shows with his brothers.
His last months were spent with his daughter, Pam, and granddaughter, Amanda, taking awesome care of him at home, allowing him to live out his last days at home. His sense of humor was with him right to the end making us laugh even during the very difficult last months of his life. He meant the world to his family and will be deeply missed!
He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Hinsdale.
Bradley leaves behind his daughters; Debra Main (David) of Whitefield, ME, Brenda Poplaski (Bryan) of Bowdoin, ME, Pamela Faille of Pittsfield, a son; Bradley A. Briggs, Jr. (Amanda) of Topsham, ME, a brother, Raymond Briggs (Laurie Ann) of Florida, MA, and a special niece, Joan Ringer of Easthampton, MA.
He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers; Richard L Briggs, Jr., Charles L Briggs, Roger K Briggs, and two sisters; Phoebe E Pelkey, and Pearl L Pfister.
Bradley also leaves behind grandchildren, Kelly Main, Lacy Main, Jamie Main (Chelsea), Shyanne Poplaski (Corey), Mikayla Poplaski (Elliot) of Maine, Jessica Faille (Tommy), Amanda Faille of Pittsfield, Ashley Grogan (Kelly) of Hinsdale, Nicholas Derby (Brooke) of Norwich, CT, Juliette Marra (Dylan) of Douglas, Bailey Briggs, and Becket Briggs of Maine.
Bradley also leaves behind 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces, and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Bradley Briggs will be on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home - WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247.
