Velma Prevey, 84

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Velma Marie (Senecal) Prevey, 84 of North Adams, MA died on Sunday October 27, 2024 at her home.

She was born in North Adams, MA on January 21, 1940, a daughter of Leo E. and Doris (Richard) Senecal. She graduated from the former St. Joseph’s High School.

Velma was first employed as a receptionist to Dr. Antoine Dumouchel. She then became a legal secretary to Judge Ernest Rosasco and later worked for Attorney Andrew Campoli and Attorney Thomas Manuel. She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church. Velma enjoyed playing golf and was a former member of the North Adams Country Club and Taconic Golf Club.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Anthony Prevey whom she married on April 18, 1959 and two sons, Michael R. (Lisa) Prevey of Sagamore Beach, MA and Mark A. (Diane) Prevey of Stamford VT. She also leaves five grandchildren, Matthew, Amber, Jordan, Morgan and Erica; her sister, Claire V. Senecal with whom she lived and was one of her caregivers; her beloved Shelty, “Tipper” and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Leo W. Senecal.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Velma Prevey will be Monday November 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour at the funeral home will be Monday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
