Mathew Novicky, 42
Mathew Charles Novicky, 42, of North Adams passed suddenly following a brief illness at his home on Monday, October 21, 2024.
Matt was born on February 2, 1982, in Danbury, Conn., son of George Novicky, of North Adams, and the late Sandra Mclain. He was a 2000 graduate of Charles H. McCann Technical High School and a loyal and valued employee at Aladco Linen Service in Adams.
His life revolved around his family, particularly his daughter, Ellie. He would spend hours with her on the swing, walking with her, or just enjoying time on the porch.
Matt was a talented musician, artist, and writer. He very much enjoyed concerts and comedy shows. He had the ability to watch someone play an instrument, then pick it up and play it himself. Matt enjoyed entertaining his friends and family by playing the guitar, drums, keyboard, and the one note on the bagpipe he knew how to play.
His friends were also incredibly important to him. If you were ever friends with him, please know that you are in his heart forever.
Matt was extremely sentimental. He clipped news articles and saved them every time someone he knew was mentioned. He never threw away cards, notes, and other things that were gifted to him, particularly when they had handwriting on them.
Matt enjoyed making his own path in his own way – he marched to the beat of his own drum with his unique sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh.
Mathew is survived by his beloved family including his wife, Kelly (Brennan) Novicky; his children, Ellie Novicky, Lilly Tatro, and Leo Marabel, of North Adams; sister, Sarah Novicky of North Adams, and his father, George Novicky.
