Kathleen Eastland, 76

CHESHIRE, Mass. —  Kathleen Ann (Senecal) Eastland passed away after a brief illness in the loving home she shared with her daughter and granddaughter in Cheshire, MA on October 12, 2024. She was 76 years old.

Born in North Adams, MA, she was the eldest daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Gloria Sylvia (Delisle) Senecal.

A graduate of the former St. Joseph’s High School, she attended North Adams State College. Kathy postponed her career to provide a loving home raising her three children.

After returning to the workforce, she settled into a career that lasted until her retirement in 2022 as a senior administrative assistant at Advanced Eyecare PC in North Adams.

Kathy loved traveling, especially on family trips to the beach and her frequent trips to New York City. One of her greatest joys was watching the Red Sox win the World Series in 2004. The family table was the setting for not only delicious dinners but competitive games of Scrabble. Usually won by Kathy.

Since 2019, Kathy lived with her daughter Ann, her granddaughter Ava, and her two favorite companions Bailey and Ollie.

Kathy is survived by her sister, Jill Senecal of Pittsfield, three children; Thomas (Melissa) Eastland of North Adams, Lisa (Heath) Haas of Adams, AnnMarie Eastland of Cheshire, as well as six grandchildren; Stephin Wallace, Cassidy Eastland, Gavin Eastland, Kamlyn Haas, Carter Haas, and Ava Stefanik.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Kathleen Eastland will be celebrated on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home – CENTRAL CHAPEL 74 Marshall St. North Adams will be Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM. I didn't know her that well because I only met her a few times, but from the first interaction I had with her, I could tell she was a kind and loving person who would help you with anything even if you didn't ask her to.
