David W. Nicholas, Sr. 82
ADAMS, Mass. —
Mr. David W. Nicholas, Sr., 82, of Adams, died on Friday, September 27, 2024, at his home.
He was born in Pittsfield on June 6, 1942, a son of the late Francis and Gladys (Bliss) Nicholas. He attended schools in Pittsfield and California.
Mr. Nicholas worked as a truck driver for the Pittsfield News Company for many years until retiring.
An avid hunter and archer, he had been a member of various sportsman’s clubs and was a certified instructor for the National Field Archery Association. Dave was also a former Berkshire County Men’s Speed Skating champion.
He is survived by his wife, the former Bonnie L. Denison, whom he married on May 21, 1965; two sons, David W. Nicholas, Jr. and his wife Christina of Adams and Cory Nicholas of Adams; two daughters, Kathleen Likens of TN and Jennifer Nicholas of Chicopee; two half brothers, William Nicholas of Washington and Dwight Nicholas of Ohio; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather George Hunter.
The family would like to thank Cameron and Amanda from Hospice Care in the Berkshires and Keith from Elder Services for their compassionate care.
hours at the PACIOREK FUNEAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, are Friday, October 4th from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon.
Burial will be at a later date in Bellevue Cemetery.
The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
