Mark A. Joppich, 68

CHESHIRE, Mass. —

Mark Allen Joppich, 68, of Cheshire, MA, passed away on September 24, 2024, in Cheshire, MA.

Mark was born on April 4, 1956, in Pittsfield, MA, to Karl and Marie “Peanie” Joppich. He grew up in Cheshire and spent his entire life in the town he loved.

Mark spent his working years at Unistress before retiring. He was a man of many passions, including hunting, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, snowmobiles, and his love for guns. He was also a lover of music, history, and science fiction.

Friends and family will always remember Mark for his kindness, fun-loving spirit, and great sense of humor. He left everyone he met with memories and stories they’ll never forget. He was a gentle and generous soul who would have done anything to help his friends and family. He was a remarkable marksman and took great pride in his ability to outshoot anyone. Mark was also very well-known for never being on time.

Mark is survived by his children, Trevor Joppich and Heather Joppich-Lines; his grandchildren, Lillian Joppich, Andrew Joppich, Cyrus Lines, and August Lines; his siblings, Paul Joppich, Joseph Joppich, and Karen Luczynski; and his partner of 15 years, Lori Brassard, who he cared for in her time of need.

Mark will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his stories, laughter, and fun he brought into people’s lives will live on in those who were lucky enough to share it with him.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held, Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to the Cheshire Fire Department in care of Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home, PO Box, 445, Cheshire, MA 01226
