Douglas F. Bozek, 52

CHESHIRE, Mass. —

Mr. Douglas F. Bozek, 52, of Newmarket, NH, was a loving father, a dedicated son, and a card-carrying member of the John Belushi fan club. He died on Saturday, August 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in Lebanon, NH.

A lifelong collector, Doug’s passions included Blues Brothers memorabilia, celebrity autographs, and movies from the “golden age” of cinema. Beyond amassing the largest DVD collection known to man, Doug’s biggest goal in life was to be a good father. The success of this mission is illustrated through his two children, Lilla and Spencer Bozek.

Doug was born on March 5, 1972, to Frederick and Margaret (Thompson) Bozek in North Adams, MA. He attended schools in Cheshire and Adams and graduated from Hoosac Valley High School with the class of 1990. During his high school years, Doug was a talented artist and traveled to the Soviet Union with the International Friendship Club to help unite the next generation through art. He earned his bachelor’s in communication from Bridgewater State University in 1994, where he played a mean game of eight-ball and served as President of the Theta Chi Fraternity.

Doug worked for many years as a videographer in Community Television for the former Adelphia Cable in New Hampshire and spent his later years on various video restoration projects.

Besides his parents and his children, Doug is survived by his brother, Brian Bozek of St. Charles, MO; older sister, Elizabeth Morin and her husband Robert of Conway, MA; and younger sister, Amy Bozek of Savoy, as well as many extended family members.

Recollections & Sympathy For the Family

My family and I lived upstairs from Doug and the kids for years. We walked Spencer and my son Aidan to the bus top together every day for so long.
Spencer and my son Aidan are still friends. I feel terrible to learn of his passing today. He was a great father.

Our deepest sympathies for your family. He was a very talented artist, even at a very young age. His drawings were always amazing. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Praying for strength and resilance to Doug's family and friends after his tragic and untimely loss. Doug was one of the most positive cheerleader spirit and his unique sense of humor will never be forgotten.
