Claire Wimpenney, 90

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — It is with great sadness that the family of Claire J. (Maynard) Wimpenney announce her passing on Sept. 16, 2024, at her home.

She was born on July 5, 1934, to the late Warren W. Maynard and Ruthann (Alderman) Maynard in Adams.

Claire married the late Russell J. Wimpenney Sr. on September 15th, 1956, at First Baptist Church. Together they had four children: Leslie J. Green, Russell J. Wimpenney Jr. (Lisa), Shawn M. Wimpenney (Andrea) of Clarksburg, and Lori R. Miner of Adams.

Besides her children, Claire leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Jessica L. Wimpenney, Damien D. Wimpenney, Amanda L. Price, Kristin M. Nevius, William J. Miner, Russell J. Wimpenney III, Joshua Wimpenney, Jonathan Wimpenney, Ashleigh Wimpenney, Rachel Kilmer, Shylow Smith, and Jennifer St. Germain; 15 great-grandkids, and four great-great grandkids.

Sending sympathy to all of you. I not only went to school with some of you but worked with Claire for many years at Sprague. She always had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. Thankful she is at peace and resting. Sad to see all the people from Clarksburg that built the town moving along it just isn't home anymore to me. Hold tight to the great memories you all have .
