Henry "Hank" Poirot, 85
ADAMS, Mass. —
Mr. Henry S. “Hank” Poirot, 85, of Adams, died on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at his home.
He was born in Florida, MA on October 2, 1938, a son of the late Louis and Marie Louise (Boeniger) Poirot. He attended schools in Florida.
Hank worked as a truck driver for the former General Electric Co., and then retired from the former Lockheed Martin, Pittsfield. Following his retirement he drove for CTL Trucking.
He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams. He was a longtime member and past president of the Adams Sno Drifters, the Florida Mountaineers, the Hoosac Valley Motorcycle Club and the Adams Fall Run Committee. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Carolyn Bishop, whom he married on February 8, 1958; four sons, Michael Poirot and his wife Kory of Adams, Donald Poirot and his wife Robin of Cheshire, Richard Poirot and his wife Shirley of Adams and Bruce Poirot of Cheshire; two daughters, Catherine Poirot-Gancarz of Adams and Melissa Poirot of Williamstown; his brother, Charles Poirot of Florida; two sisters, Claire Burdick of Florida and Sandra Bergeron of North Adams; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Louis and John Poirot; by four sisters, Adeline Barry, Marcilene Rooney, Marguarite “Dolly” Rowett and Rita Dugal; and by Melissa’s longtime partner Ken Kingston.
Hank was a caring, kind soul who always showed love to his wife, his children, grandchildren and his extended family. Although his departure leaves an unfillable void in their lives, they find comfort in the memories and everlasting love they shared.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 18th at 10:00 A.M. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Maple St., Adams.
Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams.
