Adam W. Sweeney, 37
ADAMS, Mass. —
Adam William Sweeney left this world too soon on August 29th, 2024. He was born March 11th, 1987, in North Adams, MA to Julie Lyon and the late Ralph W. Sweeney Jr. He was a lifelong resident of Northern Berkshire County. He grew up playing football and was active in Adams Scout Troops from cub scouts through high school earning Life rank. He graduated from Hoosac Valley High School in 2005. He loved fishing, watching movies, and being in nature, especially swimming at his favorite swimming hole.
He is survived by his mother, Julie Lyon (Jeff Ciuk), his grandmother, Sheila Lyon, six siblings, Nicole “little sister” Dech (Damian), Tina Lamarre (Chris), Skye Sweeney, Reshawna Maine (Zach), Aaron Wood, and Anthony Killackey (Carol), his paternal uncle, Richard Sweeney, as well as many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph W. Sweeney Jr, his maternal grandfather, Frank Lyon Sr, his paternal grandparents, Ralph W. and Mildred (Record) Sweeney Sr and his uncle Frank (Rick) Lyon Jr. He will be remembered as a caring, funny, smart and creative person.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 12th at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St, Adams, MA. Calling hours will be from 4-6pm followed by a service at 6pm. Donations can be made in honor of Adam to Adams’ Boy Scout Troops. These can be sent to BSA Troop 38, 4 Maple St. Adams, MA 01220.
