Cyrilla Vadnais Fantauzzi

Cyrilla Irene Fantauzzi, known affectionately as “Sis”, went to be with her Lord on July 10, 2024 in Conyers, Georgia at the age of 97. Born in North Adams, Massachusetts, Sis was the daughter of the late Eugene and Cyrilla Chaperon.

Sis’s early life was rooted in North Adams where she attended St Joseph High School, graduating with the class of 1944. She was a communicant of St Francis of Assisi Church as well. She began her professional career at Sprague Electric as an executive secretary, a role that highlighted her organizational skills and attention to detail. Later, her career took her to the State of Florida, where she excelled as a Draftsperson until her retirement to Georgia. Sis led a life marked by dedication to her career and passion for the arts.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Sis was a talented artist who loved dancing, singing and painting. Her passion for oil painting allowed her to create numerous beautiful artworks that remain treasured by her family and friends. Her artistic talent was just one of the many ways she touched those around her.

Sis is survived by her loving husband, Jack Fantauzzi of Conyers, Georgia, her step daughter, Vicki Fantauzzi of Florida, her sons of North Adams, Mark (Cindy), Peter (Dawn), and daughter, Beverly Vadnais (Warren Delmolino) of North Adams and Umatilla, Florida, and her adopted daughter, Cynthia Gross of North Adams, in addition to her grandchildren, Coleen, Jennifer, Jodie, Kristen, Brett, Trista, Jamie, Holly and Michael, several great grandchildren, and her beloved nieces and nephews.

Sis was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Edmond “Red” Vadnais, her daughter, Lori Ann Vadnais, her sisters, Marie Scarbo and Shirley Smith, and her granddaughter, Kacey Caprari. Her life was a testament to her strength, creativity, and love of family.

A graveside memorial service for Sis and her daughter, Lori, will be held on Saturday, October 12 at 11 a.m. at Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
